TAMARIKI BOWLS WAIKANAE

Time for our annual youth bowls programme with Waikanae and Kapakapanui primary schools is approaching. 

This year we will run the programme over an 8-week window in term 3 with introductory sessions, fun target games etc from 30 July through to 17 September on Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 to 2:30pm.

Our emphasis, as in past years, is on introducing as many Year 7 & 8 pupils as possible to bowls and them having fun on the green. 

The last two weeks of the programme will additionally focus on preparing those pupils selected for the half day triples and pairs match-play bowls component of their annual inter-school Frank van Kampen tournament.

The success of this programme is very much attributable to those volunteering club members who give up their roll-up time to help run the sessions.
